TLDR: Copilot remains an aspiring junior engineer
This blog post discusses a recent whitepaper from GitClear which further emphasizes the incredible power that comes with Copilot, and the incredible responsibility that comes with that power. In effect, Copilot remains an aspiring junior developer. It has an incredible amount of knowledge and is eager to help, but is prone to a wide number of issues if you blindly trust it.
Should you use Copilot? Yes, one hundred percent yes.
Should you review everything that Copilot produces? Yes, one hundred percent yes.
Will Copilot make you more productive? Absolutely, but only if you don't blindly trust it.
